Inflatable Tent Setup, Use & Care
Valve locations, floors, panels, and accessories vary by model. Follow these general guidelines together with the model-specific instructions supplied with your tent.
Preparation & Setup
- Choose elevated, level ground away from standing water, external open flames, and overhanging branches.
- Remove stones, sticks, roots, and other sharp objects before unfolding the tent.
- Place a suitable groundsheet underneath to help protect the floor. Keep it fully inside the tent footprint so rainwater cannot collect underneath.
- Fully unfold and position the tent before inflation. Set up before dark whenever possible.
- Secure the tent with all required pegs and guy lines at every setup. Use anchors appropriate for the ground conditions.
Inflation & Air Pressure
- Inflate with a compatible pump fitted with a pressure gauge.
- Recommended pressure: 6–8 psi. Never exceed 8 psi.
- Follow your model’s valve-opening and closing sequence. Secure the valves and caps after inflation.
- Check pressure when temperatures change. Cooling can reduce pressure; sunlight and heating can increase it. Adjust as needed within the recommended range.
- The pressure-relief valve is an additional safeguard, not a substitute for checking pressure.
Temperature & Cold-Weather Use
- Operating range: −10 °C to +40 °C (14 °F to 104 °F). This describes the tent’s operating range, not a guaranteed temperature inside.
- Use sleeping bags and insulated sleeping mats rated for the conditions you expect.
- PVC components become stiffer in freezing conditions. Allow them to warm and become flexible before folding. Never force-fold rigid or frozen components.
- After use below 0 °C (32 °F), dry the tent completely in a warm, dry indoor space before storage.
Rain, Snow & Wind
- Install and correctly tension the included rainfly during prolonged or heavy rain, whenever snow is expected, and during extended exposure to strong sunlight.
- Keep the rainfly’s ventilation openings unobstructed. Where fitted, ensure protective covers over window zippers lie flat.
- Remove accumulating snow and pooled water promptly. Do not leave their weight resting on the roof.
- Recheck anchors and guy-line tension as conditions change. Move to safer shelter if conditions become unsafe.
- When weather conditions allow, lift or remove the rainfly to improve airflow and allow both layers to dry.
- Allow frozen zippers to thaw gently before operating them. Never force the slider.
Heating & Fire Safety
Tent fabric is not fireproof.
- Use only a compatible wood-burning tent stove installed through the designated stove jack according to the model-specific instructions.
- Follow the stove manufacturer’s requirements for chimney assembly and clearances. When the rainfly is fitted, correctly align its stove-jack opening with the tent’s opening.
- Use a spark arrestor and heat-resistant stove mat. Ordinary carpets, blankets, and groundsheets do not replace stove-floor protection.
- Maintain continuous ventilation and use a working carbon monoxide alarm. Keep hot surfaces, chimney sections, sparks, and embers away from tent fabric and equipment.
- Never leave a burning stove unattended or operating while everyone is asleep. Do not use exposed flames, charcoal grills, or unvented fuel-burning appliances inside.
- Use electrical heating equipment only where its manufacturer explicitly permits the intended tent application. Follow all placement, clearance, moisture-protection, and power-supply requirements.
- Keep exits clear and a suitable fire extinguisher accessible. Keep children and pets away from heating equipment.
Ventilation & Condensation
- Breathable canvas and adjustable ventilation help manage moisture. Condensation can still form when warm, humid air meets a colder surface.
- Keep ventilation openings clear and maintain airflow, including when TPU panels or a room partition are closed.
- Choose dry ground where possible, keep wet equipment outside the living area when practical, and wipe away accumulated moisture.
- Never close required ventilation openings simply to retain more heat.
Taking Down & Storage
- Extinguish and fully cool any stove or heater before removing equipment or packing.
- Fully deflate the air frame using your model’s deflation valves before folding. Do not force the tent into its bag.
- Dry the tent, rainfly, floor components, and accessories completely before storage. If packing wet is unavoidable, unpack and dry everything as soon as possible.
- Store in a cool, dry, ventilated indoor location, away from direct sunlight and sharp objects.
Cleaning & Care
- Remove loose dirt with a soft brush or cloth. Clean remaining marks gently with cool or lukewarm water and a soft cloth or sponge.
- Do not machine-wash, pressure-wash, bleach, or use solvents, alcohol-based cleaners, household detergents, or dishwashing liquid.
- Remove bird droppings, leaves, and other organic debris promptly. Avoid aggressive scrubbing.
- Contact support before applying a specialist cleaner, waterproofing treatment, or repair product that has not been confirmed compatible with the tent material.
- Keep sharp objects, flammable liquids, and corrosive substances away from the fabric, floor, and air beams.
